Classic Drum Brake Service

Your One Stop Auto Shop — Fullerton, CA

Quick answer: Cedillo’s services drum brakes and early disc systems on classic cars and trucks: shoes, drums, wheel cylinders, hoses, fluid and adjustment. Rafael completed Bosch brake technology training in 2024.

Drum brakes work well when they’re in good shape and adjusted correctly. On older cars, the trouble usually comes from wheel cylinders that leak, hoses that have aged, shoes that are glazed or contaminated, or adjusters that have stopped working.

We inspect the whole system, show you what we find, and quote before we work.

Most of our modern brake work is pads, rotors, calipers and ABS diagnosis. For that, see Brake Repair.

Classic Drum Brake Service FAQ

Are drum brakes safe on a classic?

When they’re in good condition and adjusted properly, drum brakes work as designed. The key is regular inspection, fresh fluid and good hoses.

Why does my classic pull when I brake?

Common causes are a leaking wheel cylinder, contaminated shoes, a sticking adjuster or an aging hose. We’ll find the cause before replacing parts.

Can you find brake parts for older cars?

Yes, we source hard-to-find parts. Have your year, make and model ready when you call.
